All Aboard The Pumpkin Train at Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad in Los Gatos

As we get closer to the day of ghosts and ghouls, you may still be wondering what family friendly Halloween events would be perfect for the kids in Palo Alto and surrounding areas. Well, look no further because The Pumpkin Train at Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad in Los Gatos is the answer as it's chocked full of things to do for both kids and parents. Hop aboard the train, take a ride on the carousel or meander through the railroad's first ever pumpkin patch! The event is open Fridays through Sundays, October 16th - 31st, 5:30-8:30 pm.

Never heard of Billy Jones Wildcat Railroad? It is the result of one man's love of trains and his rescue/purchase of a rusted, miniature steam locomotive destined for Japan in 1939. This man, Billy Jones, restored this ? scale engine and, upon its completion, invited the community to ride the Wildcat Railroad, then located on his own personal ranch, free of charge. The town loved Billy Jones and his contributions to his fellow neighbors over the decades. Years later, when he died, the community came together to save the steam train and, today, a fleet of tiny restored trains amuse residents and out-of-towners at the Los Gatos park.

Get to the railroad during normal business hours and before 3 pm, and you can order up some fresh-off-the-grill BBQ with a menu that includes: Giant All-Beef Hot Dogs, Hamburgers/Cheeseburgers, Polish Sausages and Veggie Burgers, all for just $3-$4.
