Celebrate The Fête de la Musique by attending the sixth annual Palo Alto World Music Day on Father's Day. Enjoy free performances by more than 50 amateur and professional musical groups, performing a wide array of genres, including rock, pop, classical, blues, jazz, dance, choral, Indian, Balkan, Greek, klezmer and more.
Recognized all over the world, The Fête de la Musique is a popular music festival that takes place around every summer solstice. The event began in France back in 1982 and has since spread to numerous countries, including Colombia, Romania, Philippines, Pakistan, Morocco, Malaysia, Lebanon, India, China, Israel, Switzerland and Germany.
Palo Alto will celebrate this traditional event at King Plaza and University Avenue on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Come see musicians line up along street corners, plazas, sidewalks and stores, where they'll showcase their unique talents by offering free impromptu concerts for the general public.
In addition to various amateur musicians, the event will feature numerous professional bands and artists, who will perform at specific times throughout the day.
