Newly opened to much fanfare in September 2013, this retail space is like none before it. The Apple Store at Stanford Shopping Center, less than 3 miles from Creekside Inn, is over 8,000 sq-ft. of trendsetting technology, from iPhones and iPads, to laptops and desktop powerhouses. The popularity of Apple products draws thousands of fans to line-up for every new release. When this "pavilion-style" outlet opened, it was met with the same fervor. At the heart of Silicon Valley, right near the very birthplace of Apple computers, it's no surprise this brand new Palo Alto location is drawing throngs of tech-hungry shoppers each day.
What's So Different About this Store? -
The unique "pavilion" design is a first for Apple retailers, with a product-laden front room for shopping, and a service-centric back room for the famous Genius Bar, beside a stage space for frequent seminars, workshops, and intimate concerts. On the outside, the architecture is even more impressive. Three sides of the building are glass, with a sleek cantilevered roof. All this creates a sense that the same passion for design and ingenuity Apple applies to its gadgets is at play with its retail strategy. In fact, the company has built 27 new stores throughout 2013 at a total price tag of over $600 million. By far the most marvelous of these is our new neighbor at the nearby Stanford Shopping Center, just 8 minutes from our hotel.
