Palo Alto Festival of the Arts

A Palo Alto Tradition -

One of the area’s most popular events returns August 24 & 25 as the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts takes over University Avenue for a weekend of family-friendly fun. Now in its 32nd year, the event attracts over 150,000 attendees from all over the West Coast. Over 300 hundred artists, artisans, and craft creators will line both sides of the street with their booths.
One of the weekend’s highlights will also be back this year; the Italian Street Painting Expo. Over sixty chalk artists will cover Tasso Street with larger-than-life images. Additionally, The Palo Alto Parents & Professionals for Art will once again offer a Kids’ Art Studio. Young people can show off their creative skills through a variety of mediums at this always-popular part of the festival.

Arts, Crafts, and more -

In addition to all of the amazing artwork and crafts, there will be plenty of live music all weekend long. Enjoy everything from rock to folk to swing as bands perform on the stages set up on Webster Street and Waverly Avenue. Also, three different food courts will offer a variety of delicious food and tasty treats. Munch on BBQ, teriyaki chicken, ginger chicken, sausage, crab cakes, and more. Tempt your sweet tooth with cupcakes and frozen yogurt.
