One of the area’s most popular events returns August 24 & 25 as the Palo Alto Festival of the Arts takes over University Avenue for a weekend of family-friendly fun. Now in its 32nd year, the event attracts over 150,000 attendees from all over the West Coast. Over 300 hundred artists, artisans, and craft creators will line both sides of the street with their booths. One of the weekend’s highlights will also be back this year; the Italian Street Painting Expo. Over sixty chalk artists will cover Tasso Street with larger-than-life images. Additionally, The Palo Alto Parents & Professionals for Art will once again offer a Kids’ Art Studio. Young people can show off their creative skills through a variety of mediums at this always-popular part of the festival.
