The whole community comes out for the annual May Fete Parade, a fun-filled springtime celebration that has taken place for almost a century. It's also a celebration of children and youth, health and happiness, friends and neighbors – and it takes over University Avenue and the streets of downtown Palo Alto on Saturday, May 7. The day kicks off with a parade at 10 am, featuring marching bands, decorated floats, thousands of happy kids with costumes, pets, and bicycles. Everyone ends up at Heritage Park, where the party continues until 1 pm. At the park you'll find:
- Fun activities for kids and families
- Performance stage with live music and entertainment from local groups
- Delicious food and drinks for purchase
- Picnic space for relaxing
You can also visit The Museum of American Heritage right across the street from the park, to enjoy their Annual Vintage Vehicle and Family Festival.
