The historic Sunset Magazine headquarters are nestled amid a set of stunning gardens and natural features making it a perfect outing for a weekend getaway in Northern California. At the beginning of the year the Sunset Magazine Gardens in Palo Alto are coming into full bloom, so now is the perfect time to visit. The garden offers visitors a look into the natural environments of the major regions of the West Coast from the lush Pacific Northwest to the diversity of California including desert and coastal areas. Completely renovated in 2000, the Palo Alto Sunset Magazine Gardens are filled with a variety of vegetation from majestic trees and unique greenery to spectacular floral displays and perennials. There’s even a 3,000 square foot test garden onsite where the Sunset Magazine staff experiments with the latest garden technology and captures it on film for their iconic magazine. The garden walks are self-guided, but groups of ten or more can make advanced reservations to enjoy this favorite Palo Alto tour.
